"Once upon a time in September 2020, I reached out to the Mike’s Upholstery store amid a 30 year loyalty only to learn of the news of Mike’s transition.

It was as IF I had experienced a harpoon in my chest.  I learned this news from the kind spirited Isabel, Mike’s wife,  who graciously returned my call the same day to address my interest to re-do my bedding and living room fabrics. She felt my pain and my pause in this hardship that she and her family and team were sadly served.

With tears in my heart, I felt Mike’s presence and its force kept me loyal. I contracted the work immediately to be done feeling Mike in the ether.

I was blessed with a short turn around with the same consummate personal attention as prior and the same unmatched quality of materials and workmanship as prior with all its wonders.

"Recently, through a chance find on the internet, we found Isabelle Z Tarikyan, the Principal of Mike’s Custom Upholster Inc. Actually the lead packer from Bryon Homes found Isabelle. We were moving to a lovely independent senior condo in Princeton, N.J., not exactly close to her business, but she accepted the assignment. From the moment she entered our home, during the middle of the Coronavirus, she impressed us as a most efficient business woman. She took our window treatment from our present home, sized them, redid them and rehung them in our new condo. Isabelle Tarikyan, now the face of Mike’s Upholstery, is the epitome of professionalism, knowledge, experience and a woman of her word.

When she tells you she will call you in 15 minutes because she is with a client, she calls you in 15 minutes.  When she tells you she can get fabrics, have your furniture picked up on a given day and returned in two weeks, she delivers!

Covid-19 has created distribution, lack of manufacturing and shortage of employees for most businesses over the past year,  but that is not the case with Mike’s Upholstery.  They are doing something right after 30 years and made good on their timing and delivery for the work that was contracted.  There is no delays when you deal with Isabelle.

The three benches she refinished/reupholstered, 2 bedroom chairs,  an ottoman and outdoor chair cushions for my terrace were expertly done with the highest quality at a reasonable and fair price.

Patrizia Alessi is an expert in design and knows exactly how to find the perfect fabric.  She was so helpful and knowledgeable  in picking out the fabric for my needs!

I had my sofa reupholstered after 10 years of toil and soil. The fabric is white. I received my reupholstered sofa today and was THRILLED with the outcome.

My new reupholstered sofa looks better than the original. Mike's upholstery did a wonderful job. So much that I'm going to have them redo my love seat which I was not planning on doing.
